William Hazel Garrett, Sr.

William Hazel Garrett, Sr., 93, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late David Hicks Garrett and Carrie Shepherd Garrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aurilla Virginia Cherry Garrett; his son, William Hazel Garrett, Jr.; and siblings, Irvin Thomas Garrett, Irene Garrett Wyant, and Carrie Sue Garrett. Mr. Garrett was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Mr. Garrett is survived by his grandchildren, Lacey Garrett and her fiance', Johnathan Waters, and Rusty Auten and his wife, Colleen; his great-grandchildren, Bentley, Addilyn, and Novalee; his brother, David Garrett and his wife, Ruby; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will greet guests at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A private inurnment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont, at a later date.
