Dora Jean (Walls) Hester

Dora Jean Walls Hester, 86, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 20 at her home.  She was born in Gaston County to the late Willie Franklin Walls and Dewey "Bear" Walls.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters Rachael Harris and Dorothy Kirby, and one brother Raymond Walls.  Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Allan Dale Hester and Terry Gene Hester and wife Cheryl; a daughter Lisa Hester Byrd and husband Kevin; sisters Martha Norton and Nancy Wilson; grandchildren Jeffrey Hester and wife Dana, Shane Hester and wife Carol, Thomas and Jacob Byrd; additional four grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.  A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm Friday, February 23 in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.  Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 9:00 pm Thursday, February 22 also at the funeral home.
