Edna Spargo Lineberger

Mrs. Edna Spargo Lineberger, 97, of Stanley, entered into the joy of her Father's house on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Stanley Total Living Center.  She was born in McAdenville, daughter of the late Lon J. and Ethel Austin Spargo.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Luther Miles Lineberger, as well as two sisters Billie S. Wyatt and Minerva Thomas, and two brothers Lewis Spargo and T.L. Spargo.  Edna was a beautician for 60 years and was owner of Edna's Beauty Shop in Stanley. She was a member of Christ's Lutheran Church in Stanley where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, was an active choir member, served on the church council, and was President of the Lutheran Church Women. She loved her family, friends and her church, and was a beloved member of the community.  Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Judy L. Ray and husband Charles of Stanley; a brother Bobby Spargo and wife Anne of Stanley; three grandchildren Elka Martin and husband Jonathan, Deborah Shoemake and husband Matthew, Rev. Ryan Ray and wife Kim, nine great grandchildren Christian Mendoza and husband Jose, Dane Silvers, Wyatt Grigg, Huckleberry Martin, Julep Martin, Miles Cooper, Beatrice Cooper, Liam Ray and Nolan Ray, three great great grandchildren Sephie Silvers, Halen Mendoza and Winter Mendoza, and numerous nieces and nephews.  A service to celebrate Edna's life will be held 12 noon Wednesday November 7 at Christ's Lutheran Church with Pastor Wesley Frye officiating.  The family will greet guests for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Entombment will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Mausoleum, Mount Holly. Memorials may be made to Christ's Lutheran Church, 203 South Main Street, Stanley, NC 28164.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Stanley Total Living Center for the loving kindness and care given to her during her time there.
