Edna Mullis Miller

Edna Ruth Mullis Miller, 95, of Stanley, died Thursday, April 12 at her home.  She was born in Gaston County the daughter of the late Dwight H. and Etta A. Mullis.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James A. Miller; two sons Paul and David Miller; two granddaughters Jessica Miller and Lorrie Miller; and a great granddaughter Kayla Reynolds.  She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Stanley.  Those left to cherish her memory include her son Melvin Miller of Stanley; a sister Betty Howie and her husband Roscoe of South Carolina; grandchildren Kathy Brown of Stanley, Bryan Miller of Dallas, Stephanie Bumgarner of Ranlo, Jeff Miller of Hickory, Eric Miller of Charleston, SC, Karen Stewart of Hickory; great grandchildren Travis Brown of Saint Pauls, Michael A. Taylor of Massillon, OH, Tyler Miller of Cherryville, Blake Miller of Bessemer City, and Abbey, Bailey, Chase, and Avery Bumgarner of Ranlo; as well as multiple great-great grandchildren.  A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm Monday, April 16 at First Baptist Church, 409 Old Mt. Holly Road in Stanley.  Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.  The family will greet guests for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm, also at the church.
