Edward Hoffman, age 77 of Lawrenceville, Georgia and formally of Mt. Holly, NC died peacefully in his sleep on April 19, 2018. He retired from General Motors Parts Division after 37 years. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Russell; daughter, Melanie Keeling (Chris), son, Scott Hoffman (Pam) and grandchildren, Natalie Delgado (Daniel), Morgan Keeling, Dr. Ashley Hoffman, Nathan Hoffman, and Ryan Hoffman. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Emmett and brother, Hoyle Hoffman (Nancy), and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Elizabeth Hoffman, brothers, Jim and Hugh Hoffman and sisters, Jean Wilson and Rebecca Hager.
He enjoyed spending time with his family having cookouts and bonfires in his backyard and working in his yard. He especially loved his loyal companion, Foxy, who never left his side.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Centerview Baptist Church, 2300 Acme Road, Belmont, NC 28012. The family will greet guests for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m., also at the church. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
