Howard Lee Meadows, Jr.

Howard Lee Meadows Jr., 59, of Stanley (formerly of Raleigh County, WV) went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 7, 2018 following a short illness.  He was born May 25, 1959 in Jonben, West Virginia.  Lee was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Shirley Meadows.

Lee is survived by a supportive, loving wife of 28 years, Angela Meadows; four daughters, Sarah Meadows and Daniel L. Morong II of Charlotte, Elizabeth Meadows and husband Christopher Preston of Iron Station, Leah Meadows of Concord and Rebekah Meadows of Stanley; four grandchildren, Daniel L. Morong III, Lili Meadows, Rylan Meadows-Preston and Catherine "Katie" Morong.  Lee had two sisters he adored; Karen Meadows Williams of Charlotte, husband Michael, and Connie Meadows Bowes of North Augusta, SC, husband Thomas.  He was a doting uncle to Taylor Meadows of Raleigh and Alec Gates of Winter Park, FL.  

Lee was a devoted and fun-loving father and Popsie.  He was a thoughtful, caring husband.  He quickly became a friend to everyone he met and he had a heart of gold.  As a man with a great sense of humor, he made everyone around him laugh.  There will be many funny memories to look back on.  There will also be sweet memories of his kind, generous nature.  He loved being an auto mechanic, racing, riding his motorcycle, working with his skid steer, and spending time with his wife, daughters and grandchildren.  He will be sadly missed.  His legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 375 Woodlawn Avenue, Mount Holly, NC with Pastor Don'L Blevins officiating.  Online condolences can be shared at www.woodlawnfuneral.org.  

The Meadows family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at the Meadows residence between 4:30 and 6:30 after the service.
