Lynda McKay Sims, 70, of Stanley, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center Lincoln. She was born in Selma, Alabama to the late Lynwood and Aileen Roberts McKay. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband George Thomas Ferrier. Lynda worked for 30 plus years for Watkins Motor Lines as an administrative assistant. She was a lifetime member of New Covenant United Methodist Church in Mount Holly where she was an active member for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband Kenneth Ray sims; a daughter Wanda Ferrier Parker and her husband Boyce; two brothers Bill McKay and his wife Deedie and Roger McKay; her grandchildren McKain Thomas Parker and Maci DeeAnne Parker; as well as multiple nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm Friday, April 13 at New Covenant United Methodist Church in Mount Holly Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will greet guests for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
