Michael Wesley Tench

Michael Wesley Tench, 69, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late George Wesley and Mary Alma Toomey Tench. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, Mount Holly. He was a cabinet maker by trade and was an avid golfer and deer hunter.

Michael was dedicated to his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Vivian Elaine Broome Tench; his children, Shannon Marcengill (Patrick), Mary Lindsey Lanier (Jason), Steven Todd Smith (Karen), and Robert Scott Smith; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and best buddy, Remi.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Tench will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Second Baptist Church, Mount Holly with Rev. Bruce Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family by visiting www.gofundme.com/michaeltench.
