Stonewall Jackson Bennett

Stonewall Jackson Bennett, 89, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Stanley Total Living Center. He was born in Cleveland County, son of the late Grady and Evelyn Martin Bennett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Mull Bennett and his granddaughter, Mattie Lynn Hegler.

He is survived by his children, Angela Bennett Lee (Roger), Christina Bennett Hegler (Roger) and Gary Bennett; his sisters, Gay Shockley and Connie Ledford; his grandchildren, Sarah, Luke and Jo Anna Bennett, Emma Hegler, Brad Lee (Tonya), Katie Bleau (Ryan); his great-grandchildren, Logan and Luke Travis and Wyatt Bleau; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Bennett will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at The Barn at Sandcastle Farms, 159 Sandcastle Rd, Dallas, NC 28034. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the service location. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Westview Gardens Cemetery, Bessemer City.  Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice by visiting www.gastonhospice.org.
