Terry Vermone Ellis, Sr. 70, died October 5, 2018 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born in Gastonia, son of the late Charles Lindbergh and Margaret Imogene Lail Ellis, and was preceded in death by a sister Charlene Ross. He served in the Air Force and National Guard, and had worked at Freightliner for 25 years.

Survivors include his wife Sandra Abernathy Ellis, children Terry V. Ellis, Jr. of Kings Mountain, Wendy E. Register and husband Tim of Lincolnton, Brooke E. Ellis of Mt. Holly, Matthew Ellis and wife Katie of Gastonia; 7 grandchildren Hannah Ellis, Ethan and Zed Register, Hayden, McKenzie, Khloe and Kynleigh Ellis, 3 step grandchildren Derek Register, Heather McDowell, Devin Heath, and 3 step great grandchildren Kylee and Easton Register, and Nolynn McDowell.

The funeral service conducted by Pastor Scott Whitney will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday October 9 in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 – 6 p.m.
