Arliece Huitt Obituary

Dorothy Arliece Clayton Huitt, daughter of the late A.B. Clayton and Ree Parker Clayton, was born on February 14, 1940. She passed away on September 6, 2021 after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Mrs. Huitt spent many years as a colorist and scheduling coordinator within the textile industry. After graduating from Gaston College with an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, she spent 20 years in the YMCA After School Program, making a positive impact on many young minds.

Mrs. Huitt is survived by her loving husband, James (Jim) Huitt, Sr.; her daughters, Karen Darnell (Scott) and Kim Carpenter (Joe, Jr.); her son, Jeffery Heavener; her brother, Steve Clayton (Elaine); six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two fur babies, Maddie and Chief.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Huitt will be held Sunday, September 19, 2021 at New Covenant United Methodist Church, 14514 Lucia Riverbend Highway, Mount Holly, North Carolina 28120.

The family requests that in order to respect the comfort of others, masks are strongly encouraged. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Tri County Animal Rescue PO Box 483 Alexis, NC 28006
