Benjamin Clyde Harkey

Benjamin Clyde Harkey, 95, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Albert Graham Harkey and Lannie Abernathy Harkey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jo Rita Harkey and Houston P. Harkey. Mr. Harkey was a U.S. Navy Veteran, who served during WWII.

Mr. Harkey is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joanne Hart Harkey; his brother, Wayne N. Harkey; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Harkey will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. The family will greet guests from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
