Bessie Mae (Sigmon) Burnett

Bessie Mae Sigmon Burnett, 78, of Springwood, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  She was born in Gaston County to the late Jonas Sigmon and Elizabeth Sipes Sigmon.  Bessie was a member of Sandy Ford Free Will Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Burnett; daughter, Pamela Burnett; two grandsons, Artemis Prine and Brian Lee; and her siblings, Betty McKinnish, Henry Sigmon, Leona Richards, J.W. Sigmon, and Robert Sigmon.  Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lisa Prine and Michael Burnett; her sister, Thelma Smith; her brother, Grady Sigmon; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.  The family will greet guests from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.  A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 on Thursday, June 16, also at the funeral home.  Interment will conclude at Hollywood Cemetery in Gastonia.
