Cynthia Darlene (Almond) Benfield

Cynthia Darlene Almond Benfield, 65, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Edward and Thelma Tullock Almond. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffery Benfield; and her brothers, Jerry Almond and Lamar Almond. Mrs. Benfield was a long-time member of East Gastonia Church of God.

A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Benfield is survived by her children, Kelly Ann Isenhour, Margaret Renee Sensing and husband, Greg, and Suella Gibson and husband, Michael; her sisters, Donna Jolly, and Sharon Gibson and husband, Paul; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Benfield will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Armstrong Cemetery, Osceola Street, Gastonia. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at East Gastonia Church of God.
