Dennis Hempstead Obituary

Dennis Ray Hempstead, 63, of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at home. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Gerald Hempstead and Betty Lou Lambert Hempstead. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Ricky David Hempstead. He had love for Panthers Football, Music, and NASCAR. Those left to cherish his memory include his children Heather Pettitt and her husband Michael, Ricky Hempstead and his wife Melinda, Chasity Partin, and Dennis Yates and his wife Hillary; siblings Wanda Dewhirst, Gerald Hempstead, Eddie Lambert, and Jimmy Lambert; ten grandchildren Jordan Abernathy, Cole Pettitt, Bailey Pettitt, James Pettitt, Dustin Yates, Dalton Carpenter, Jaden Carpenter, Summer Partin, Kaleb Partin, Kiowa Partin, Jr.; and four great grandchildren Jack Bolick, Liam Pettitt, Laylee Pettitt, and Lukas Pettitt. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9 at Ranlo Free Will Baptist Church, 6 Burke Ave. Gastonia, NC 28054.
