Donna Jean (Hopkins) Gordon

Donna Jean Hopkins Gordon, 71, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021. She was born in Johnson City, TN, daughter of the late Thomas and Betty Norris Hopkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Allen Canipe; and her sister, Brenda Harrelson. Mrs. Gordon was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Mount Holly. She enjoyed traveling, specially to the beach, loved to play bingo, and she was an avid cow collector. Above all, she loved the Lord and her family.

A loving wife, mother and MawMaw, Mrs. Gordon is survived by her husband, Jerry Lee Gordon; her children, Melissa Adkins (Scott), Melinda Hill (Glenn), Kimberly Parsons (Greg), and Rick Canipe (Secret); her step-daughter, Tammy Holt (Doug); her grandchildren, Timothy Adkins (Katie), Lane Adkins, Sara Hill, Cade Hill, Lily Hill, , Cameron Canipe, Allison Canipe, Taylor Johnson (Nate), and Travis Parsons; her step-grandchildren, Taylor Holt and Tyler Holt; her great-grandchildren, Kayden and Cason; her siblings, Thomas Hopkins, Mark Hopkins (Debbie), and Dena Stutts (Ryan); and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Gordon will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Pastor Randy Arrowood will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
