Dorcas Ann Barnes Hatley, 82, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was born in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late John Barnes and Ethel Smith Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Charly Smith; and her siblings, Vernie, Ruby, Faye, Rosemary, Sonny, Bill, and Roy.
Mrs. Hatley is survived by her husband, Clyde James Hatley; her daughter, Sharon Fowler and her husband, Henry Fowler, III; her son, James Bartley Hatley; her grandson, Henry Fowler, IV; her great-grandson, Caleb Smith; her grandson-in-law, David Smith; special nieces, Christy Wilson and Claudia Cantrell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hatley will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
