Douglas Miller Obituary

Douglas "Doug" Harold Miller, 67, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Zellie Lee Miller and Betty Colleen Stafford Miller.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie Marie Smith Miller; his children, Douglas "Lee" Miller (Cortnei), Rhonda Sparks, Sophia Rollins, and Tina Burch; his grandchildren, Brody Miller, Nicole Stroupe, Brandon Stroupe (Amanda), Holly Stroupe (Kevin), Brittany Stroupe (Callie), Madison Rollins, Emily Rollins, Ashley Burch (Adam), and Zach Smarr; his great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Stroupe, Wyatt Stroupe, Colton Stroupe, Liam Riffle, Levi Thomas, Lealand Thomas, Cash Beam, Ella Beam, Slade Morris, Addie Morris, and Leelan Morris; his brother, Lonnie Miller (Teresa); his nephews, Chris Miller, David Miller, and Aaron Miller; and many friends he considered family.

Mr. Miller was greatly loved by his family and friends, and took pride in caring for his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and a Harley enthusiast in his personal life. He also fought and won an extended battle with cancer and was proud to be a cancer survivor. In his work life, he dedicated all of his adult years to growing his business as the owner of his HVAC company, where he was known as a hard worker and passionate businessman. Mr. Miller was also known to be selfless in his service to others and he spent many years as a firefighter with Catawba Heights Fire Department. He will be greatly missed by friends, family, and the community.

The family will greet guests from 12 noon until 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly. A funeral service will be held in the Woodlawn Chapel at 1:00 pm, immediately after the visitation. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
