Edward Lewis Wallace Jr., 73, of Stanley and Mount Holly passed away Saturday, March 26th, 2022 with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law by his side. He was born March 23rd, 1949 in Lincolnton, NC to Edward Wallace and Betty Glen Wallace, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded by his brother, Dr. Glen Ansley Wallace of Greer, SC.
Mr. Wallace, "Eddie" as many knew him, is survived by his wife of 49 years, Debra Shuford Wallace, his daughter, Heather Lauren Wurster, her husband, Dane Edward Wurster, his sister, Wanda Holland, his sister-in-law. Doris Wallace, and his niece and nephew, Jessica Burns and Gregory Wallace, in addition to four nieces, Autumn, Grace, and Katelyn Wallace and Mackenzie Burns. Mr. Wallace was known as a kind, always smiling man who was quick with a joke, a listening ear, and an overall magnetic personality that made everyone he met remember him. He knew many people through his lifelong career in sales, always making sure to be fair and honest, resulting in many work relationships becoming lasting friendships.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 2nd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Wallace will be held April 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Stanley with burial to follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
