Ellis Hoyle Brotherton

Ellis Hoyle Brotherton, 77, of Stanley, died Saturday, June 27 at his home. He was born in Lincoln County, son of the late Yates Hoyle Brotherton and Vera McCall Proctor Brotherton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Gloria Lineberger. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years Linda Helton Brotherton; his children Eric Brotherton and his wife Marianne; Wendy Stockman and her wife Wendy Coleman; and grandchildren Sierra Martin and her husband Adam, Colby Brotherton, Carson Brotherton, and Riley Stockman. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 29 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 5194 Old Plank Road, Iron Station, with a service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org. Arrangements are in the care of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly.
