Elsie Stone Faircloth, aged 89, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, surrounded by her family at her son's home in Mint Hill, NC. She was born on June 14, 1934, in Laurinburg, NC, to the late Elmer Dewitt and Mary Ray Stone.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend James A Faircloth, and her sisters, Lenora Mancil and Alice Hyatt of Laurinburg, NC.
She is survived by her children, Frank Stalvey of Gastonia, NC, Donna (Michael) Hubbard of Cary, NC, Dr. Russell (Beverly) Stalvey of Mint Hill, NC, and Chuck (Crystal) Stalvey of Mt Holly, NC. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren: Breanna, Adam (Erin) Stalvey, Lauren (Dean) Young, Aaron (Kandice) Hubbard, Allison (Robert) Faries, Anna (Nick), Wesley (Ashley) Stalvey, Emily (Jason) Altenhof, Kevin (Jaclyn) West, Preston (Margaret) Stalvey, Emily (Quon) Adams, Hannah (Paul) Hrvol, Leslie (Jordan) Hay, Sarah Stalvey, and Lucas Jones.
Elsie was also "extra blessed" with 24 great-grandchildren: Cameron, Alyssa, Nate, Mackenzie, Robinson, Levi, Jovie, Adriel, Rylie, Destine, Cooper, Lilli, Maddie, Abigail, William, Savannah, Maverick, Lilly, Addie Mae, Asher, Parker, Marley, Honey, and Baby Girl Hay in 2024.
Maxine Edge of Wagram, NC, is Elsie's sole surviving sister.
Elsie was a longtime resident of Stanley, NC, and retired from JPS Textile Corporation after 30 years of working in the payroll department. She was a faithful member of the Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church, where her service will be held with the receiving of friends on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 12:00-1:00, followed by a Celebration of Life. Her interment will be at Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly, NC.
