Evelyn Austin Mullis

Evelyn Austin Mullis, 97, of Belmont, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.  She was born in Statesville, daughter of the late Clyde and Alma Shook Austin.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Denby Mullis, a daughter Charlotte Ann, and a granddaughter Robyn Dilts.  Those left to cherish her memory include her children Don Mullis and Dale Caulder; grandchildren Keith Weathers, Susan Pearson, and Lisa Burton; great grandchildren Jennifer Crawford and her husband Chris Hester, Dylan Burton, Jordan Crawford, Taylor Pearson, Tara Pearson, Zoey Pearson, C.J. Walker, and Rocky Walker; great-great grandchildren Kennedy Hester, Khloe Carothers, Jordan Sanders, Alyssa Walker, and Carrie Jones; as well as her sisters Beverly Dillard and Rena Pendleton.  A service to celebrate her life will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2018 in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly.  The family will greet guests from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 22 also at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
