Frances (Keever) Almond

Frances Keever Almond, 94, of Stanley, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Stanley Total Living Center. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Blair Jenkins Keever and Lillie Stilwell Keever. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wren; by her son, Steven Almond; brothers, William, Harry, Clyde, Ellis, Donald, Alvin, and Leonard; as well as her sister, Ruby. Frances was a long-time member of Castanea Community Church. She retired from Gaston County School System at Pinewood Elementary from the cafeteria. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff of Stanley Total Living Center, especially the 100 Wing, for their care and compassion for Frances over the years. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Thomas Wayne Almond and his wife, Gerri; daughter-in-law, Linda P. Almond; grandson, Mark Almond and his wife, Christie; and her sister, Dolly Crowe and her husband, Bill. A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Charles Barrier, to celebrate Frances' life, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Castanea Community Church Cemetery, 14815 Lucia Riverbend Highway, Stanley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stanley Total Living Center, 514 Old Mt. Holly Road, Stanley, NC 28164. Arrangements are in the care of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly.
