Frances Harris Teague

Frances Teague, age 81, quietly departed on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Complete Care of Charlotte where she resided for almost 5 years and was lovingly cared for during her stay.  Frances was born on March 14, 1937 to Johnny and Hattie Allen of Elizabeth, New Jersey. Her family moved to Brooklyn, New York where she was raised.  Frances accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. Her strongest influence came from her grandmother, Vera Harris, and aunt, Beulah Staley. The compassion and empathy that emanated from them inspired Frances to begin a long nursing career as a nursing assistant. Frances furthered her career to be a Licensed Practical Nurse after attending Manpower Nursing Program of Long Island University, Brooklyn Center in 1971. She retired from Methodist Hospital of Brooklyn in 1988. She was well known for her excellent work ethics and bedside manner.  Frances married her long time sweet heart, John Teague, in 1969 who helped raise her sons Leslie, Victor and Jeffrey. Through that union, she gained three additional sons, William (Buster), Andrew and Butch. They raised them with discipline and love and showed that they could accomplish anything their heart desired. John preceded her in passing after many years of marriage.  Growing up in the Harris family home, food and entertaining had been a big part of Frances’ life. Frances was a great cook who enjoyed her time in the kitchen with family and friends preparing big meals. "Teague", as she is known to many, always shared her time, love, talents and opinions with all that she came in contact with. Frances was a nurturer to many. She was a funny, warm person with an infectious smile that lit up a room, especially when there is music, lo-mein and red velvet cake.  Frances' beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her sons Leslie, Victor and Jeffrey; grandchildren Damien, Jonathan and Jordan; great granddaughter and a host of family and friends.
