Gary Stephen Kepley, “Steve” age 71, passed away peacefully at the Brian Center in Concord North Carolina on May 6, 2021. A military graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 11th at 2:00 at the family cemetery at 609 Cox Lake Road Stanley, North Carolina. James Harper will officiate the service. Funeral Service Arrangements are being handled by Woodlawn Funeral home in Mount Holly, North Carolina. “Steve” was born in Salisbury NC to the late J.C. Kepley and the late Helen Carter Kepley. Steve is survived by his wife Patricia Cox of the home. They were together over 40 years. Steve had two brothers, Bruce Kepley, wife, Beth, Brian Kepley, spouse Jorge along with a sister Angie Thompson, spouse Tim. Steve had 3 children, Stephen Kepley, fiance, Tiffany, Tammy Hager, husband Ty, Stephanie Hall, husband Chris, 2 stepchildren, Ray Lambert and Sandy Scates, husband Matt. Steve had ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Steve had many other nephews, cousins and friends that he considered family including Ronnie Yeager. Steve served in Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service he raced stock cars winning events at the Metrolina Speedway. He was a mechanic by trade owning his own business, and later worked on heavy duty equipment for the majority of his life retiring from J.O. Flowe Grading in Harrisburg, NC. Steve would often work on cars for friends and family. Steve enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and having visits from his grandchildren.
