Janette Neal-Ann Poteat Tucker, 86, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at her daughter's home, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease and cancer. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Henry and Hattie Benfield Poteat. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Tucker; her daughter, Tammy Tucker Mauldin; and her siblings, Betty Stowe, Earl Poteat, Ed Poteat, Marshall Poteat, Pete Poteat, and Harley Poteat.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by her son, Mark Tucker and wife, Mitch; her daughter, Kelleigh Tucker Smith and husband, Michael; her grandchildren, Austin Tucker, Tiffany Tucker, Landon Tucker, Logan Helsel (Stefanie), Brittany Helsel, Kiddman Helsel, Ashleigh Lavender, Derek Lavender (Hannah), and Joshua Mauldin; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Tucker will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
