Julian Grant Wood

Julian Grant Wood, 84, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024. He was born in Memphis, TN, but lived his formative years in Florence, SC and the majority of his life in Charlotte, NC. He was the son of the late Walter Kimsey Wood and Willa Ruth Price Wood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. W. Kimsey Wood, Jr. Mr. Wood was a graduate and an avid supporter of Clemson University. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Mr. Wood is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Wood (Bob Rudolph) and Julianne Matthews (Rick); his grandchildren, Brandon Rudisill (Lauren Adams), Calen Mathis (Taylor), Lilly Grace Matthews, and Grant Matthews; his brother, Allen Wood (Josie); his nephew, Price Wood; and his former wife and mother of his children, Cissy Rudd.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Wood will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, 375 Woodlawn Ave., Mount Holly, NC 28120. Burial will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Norway Cemetery, Hwy 332 (Norway Rd.), Norway, SC. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the funeral home.
