Kenneth Hubert Black

Kenneth Hubert Black, 77, of Mount Holly, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born in Mecklenburg County to the late Clifton Butler Black and Rachel Lee Frye Black. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Black, and his son, Charles Black. Kenneth will be remembered for loving his family and his love of outdoors. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 57 years, Geraldine Black; his children, Tammy Penley and her husband Michael, and Kenneth Black; his sister, Nancy Ray; and his grandchildren, Michael Jr., Matthew, Samantha, and Aiden Penley, Charles and Angel Black, and Christopher Watson. The family will greet guests from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. A service to celebrate his life will be held immediately following at 1:00, also at the funeral home. Interment will conclude at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte.
