Linda Sue Cagle Whaley, 72, of Stanley, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at her home. She was born in Gaston County to the late David Ray Cagle and Bertha Mae Gilliland Cagle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lewis "Louie" Whaley; her brother, David Cagle; her sister, Kathy Hartsell; and her grandson Douglas Stroupe, Jr. Linda will be remembered for her love for Willie Nelson, Elvis, Conway Twitty, and the color red, especially Red Roses. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Douglas Stroupe (Deanna) and Sandi Moore; sisters, Lisa Davidson (Timmy), Ginger Gragg, Debbie Smith (Gene), Ann Harvey (Terry), and Denise Keener; grandchildren, Courtney Scruggs and Kayla Varner; great grandchildren, Temperance and Eathan Varner. Killian Smith, and Robert Scruggs; as well as multiple nieces and nephews. Services for Ms. Whaley are private.
