Lisa (Porter) Humphrey

Lisa Porter Humphrey, 55, met Jesus face to face on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. She was born in Mecklenburg County to Doris Porter Wooten and the late Rev. Lynn Porter. Lisa was saved at an early age. She had a passion for everyone to know the Lord and be ready to meet Jesus. She was a member of South Gastonia Church of God where she was the pianist for many years. She was known for her tremendous musical abilities and her angelic voice that will be missed by all. She loved her family and everyone she came in contact with and will be remembered as having a bottomless heart. She also loved and kept in contact with her work family and friends at the Church of God State Office. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and looked forward to seeing the fall foliage on mountain rides with Greg. Her go to snack was a cinnamon pop tart and a diet SunDrop. In addition to her mother Doris and stepfather Arnold, those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Greg Humphrey; children, Josh Humphrey and his wife, Kelsey, Emily Dodson and her husband, Jacob, and Chrissy Humphrey; grandchildren, Aiden, Rylie, Kylah, Eden, and Judea; brother, Michael Porter; and nephew, Keith Porter. The family will greet guests from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023 at South Gastonia Church of God, 310 Carolina Avenue, Gastonia. A service to celebrate Lisa's life will be held immediately following at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
