Margaret JoAnne Barber Nantz, 85, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at her home. She was born in Lincoln County, daughter of the late Ernest Barber and Edith Lawing Barber. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Nantz; her granddaughter, Brittany Margaret Pender; and her brother, Ray Barber.
Mrs. Nantz is survived by her daughters, Donna Nantz Frye (Keith) and Deborah Nantz Ledbetter (Steve); her grandson and caretaker, Adam Pender; her grandchildren, Morgan Frye, Tiffany Frye, Virginia Ledbetter, Jeremy Pender; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Nantz will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Burial will follow at New Hope Community Cemetery, Old Plank Rd., Stanley. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
