Marguerite (Pope) Tolbert

Marguerite Pope Tolbert, 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Leo Andrew Pope and Inez May Pope. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill G. Tolbert, Sr.; her son, Michael Scott Tolbert; and her brother, Gordon Pope and his wife, Diane.

Mrs. Tolbert is survived by her son, Billy G. Tolbert, Jr. and his wife, Patti Rhyne Tolbert; her grandchildren, Benjamin Tolbert and Jessica Tolbert Grasso and her husband, Scott; her great-grandchildren, Logan MacIntosh, Izze MacIntosh, Ethan Grasso, Logan Grasso, Brayden Grasso, and Liam Grasso; her niece; and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Tolbert will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. The family will greet guests from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
