Marie (Pearson) Arrowood

Marie Pearson Arrowood, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She was born in Gaston County on April 8, 1935, daughter of the late William Frank Pearson and Estell Grant Pearson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dean Arrowood; her brothers, Frank Pearson, Charles Pearson, and Kenneth Pearson; and her sister, Opal Beatty. She worked for Woolworth for a number of years before retiring from Freightliner. Mrs. Arrowood was a member of Berea Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, archery, and traveling. She had great love for all people and animals.

Mrs. Arrowood is survived by her sisters, Cathy Pearson Wilson, and Trudy Pearson Chester and her husband, Kirk; her brother-in-law, Keith Arrowood; special niece and caretaker, DeAnn Wilson; along with 65 other nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Arrowood will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Berea Baptist Church, Gastonia. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
