Mason Grace Welsh

Mason Grace Welsh, beautiful daughter, granddaughter and sister, of Belmont, North Carolina passed away at age 15 on Monday, October 26th, 2020. Mason was born on May 9th, 2005 in Gastonia, North Carolina to Charity Wood and Zachary Welsh. She was an amazing sister who admired her siblings, Megan, Morgan, McKenley, and Pressley. As a child, Mason was actively involved with her church and took pride in helping others through mission trips and volunteering in the children’s church. She was such a unique person that she left an impression on anyone she met, and she always made sure you would never forget the times you spent with her. She had so many creative passions throughout her life, the biggest of all being dancing. Her big and energetic personality showed every time you would see her dance, whether it was at her competitions or making Tik Tok dances with her sister Morgan. She would also express herself through her fashion and makeup. She absolutely loved clothes, taking after her sister Megan. Her choice in clothing and creativity with makeup allowed her to express her bold personality. Mason always made people laugh no matter the situation. She would do whatever it took to put a smile on your face. Something that would always put a smile on her face was all the animals she would bring home to her mom no matter how many they already had. She was such a caring and giving person and was always there to help people or animals if they needed it. That’s why she wanted to eventually help other children who struggled with mental illness. Mason had that dream close to her heart because she knew how important it is to help people who struggle, especially in the early adolescent years of life. Mason was such a wonderful, beautiful, and unique person whose compassionate and wild spirit lit up a room and everyone’s heart. Mason is survived by her mother; Charity Wood, father; Zachary Welsh, her siblings; Megan Welsh, Morgan Wood, McKenley Welsh, Pressley Welsh, stepmother; Jenny Welsh, maternal grandparents; Faith and Jesse Wood, paternal grandparents; Ingrid & Richard Welsh; aunts; Hope Wood, Heather Welsh, Crystal Lott, uncle; John Ulmer, Jeff Harris, cousins; Robert Lyman & partner Hailey Black, Harmony Wood, Hunter Lyman, Elizabeth Clayborne, Collin Ulmer, Jaxson Ulmer.  A service to celebrate Mason's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Connections Church, 304 McAdenville Ave., Belmont, NC 28012. Pastors Robert Thompson and Mike Ivey will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
