Peggy (Sirmons) Herron

Peggy Herron, age 78 went home to be with her Lord on Saturday February 3, 2024.  She was born in Mecklenburg County and was the daughter of the late Doug and Mary Sirmons.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson Virgil Bingham; her son in law Ted Zeigler; her siblings: Cora Warren, Cindy Robbins, and Walter "Bud" Sirmons, as well as her great great grandson Ryland Welch.  Peggy was a woman of strong faith and loved her entire family, and especially enjoyed recording family functions and events.  Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Teresa Moore (Pete), Beverly Morgan (Matthew), and Melissa Clontz (Michael), her stepdaughter Dorrie Zeigler; her sister Janice Neal, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 7, 2024 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday also at the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.   The family would like to extend a special thanks to her nephew Jason Cox for all of his efforts in caring for Peggy over the years.
