Robert Pettus Obituary

Robert Lane Pettus, 71, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of Nellie Rhyne Pettus and the late Mack Pettus. Mr. Pettus was a Vietnam Veteran having proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Pettus is survived by his wife, June Varnadore Pettus; his children, Dale Pettus, Jason Pettus, Ashley Smith, Christy Eury, and Bobby Eury; his brother, David Pettus and wife, Evelyn; his sisters, Joyce Peeler and Kathy Fisher; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his nieces and nephews, and his K-9, Roxas.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Pettus will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
