Sara Francis (Davenport) Fortner

Sara Francis Davenport Fortner, 80, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Berry Davenport and Maggie Pace Davenport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Fortner; her daughter, Josie Featherstone; and her brothers, Leroy Davenport, Charles Davenport, and Dean Davenport.

Mrs. Fortner is survived by her daughter, Nancy Powell Lowe; her son, John Thomas Powell (Myra); 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Fortner will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Funeral Home.
