Sarah Elizabeth (Edwards) Pryor

Sarah Edwards Pryor, 90, of Mount Holly, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19th, with her family by her side. Sarah was born on March 26, 1933, in Mecklenburg County, NC, and was the daughter of the late Wallace Ervin Edwards and Bessie Lee Wood Edwards. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Yates Lee Pryor; brothers and sister-in-laws, Ervin Lee "Booley" Edwards (Doris), William Burgin "Billy" Edwards (Sarah); and brother-in-law, Larry Holden.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Beth Pryor and Amanda Eldridge (Kevin); grandson, Mac Eldridge (Sara); granddaughter, Macey Lang (Kyle); great-grandchildren, Kennedy Eldridge, Bradley and Hayden Lang; sister, Peggy Holden; nieces and nephews.

Sarah grew up on Homestead Mill Village and was a member of the last graduating class of Paw Creek High School where she served as class treasurer. She was a secretary for McClure Lumber Company and retired from McClure Realty after 33 years of service as office manager and bookkeeper. Sarah was a dedicated church volunteer, serving on numerous committees and was active in choir at both Tuckaseege Baptist Church and Homestead United Methodist Church. She was a current member of First Baptist Church in Mount Holly.

Sarah was a loving and devoted wife, mother, maw-maw, daughter and sister. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Pineview Cemetery, Mount Holly.
