Steven Eugene Matthews

Steven Eugene Matthews, 28, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of Dina Cagle Blizzard and the late Donald Ray Matthews. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Helen Matthews.

Steven is survived by his son, Brayden Wesley Matthews; his mother, Dina Cagle Bilzzard (Danny Kessler); his fiance, Candace Adams; his siblings, Cheyenne Nicole Williams (Shane) and Justin Lee Matthews (Tara); his grandparents, Gene and Margaret Cagle; his nieces and nephews, Kai Williams, Remilynn Williams, Gracelyn Matthews, Gavin Matthews, Payton Matthews and Kiley Matthews; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service to celebrate Steven's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Derita Baptist Church, 2835 W. Sugar Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC 28262. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org.
