Ted Garrison Reid

Ted Garrison Reid, 85, of Mount Holly, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 21, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Beaulah Robinson Reid, and his wife Joyce Cope Reid.  Ted was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church, Stanley. He was an avid golfer and was happiest in his greenhouse. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a medic and later worked at Eastern Airlines and retired after more than 20 years. Ted was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Michele Devinney; his son, Kirk Reid; his grandchildren, Brent Devinney, Cory Devinney, Megan Brown, Bella Reid, and Evan Reid; 5 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shelby Puckett, Helen Cooper, and Ann Helms.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Reid will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at First United Methodist Church (Common Ground Campus), Stanley. He will lie in repose from noon until the service hour, at the church. Burial will follow the service at the Stanley Cemetery.
