Willie "Bill" Morgan Obituary

Dallas, NC

Willie "Bill" Burch Morgan, 67, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. A native of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Freddie Morgan, and Colene Barbee Morgan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason William Morgan; and his brother, Danny Morgan.

Bill had an infectious smile that was contagious. He was always determined to make everyone around him smile. He was always picking and said at least I got you to smile. Even after his initial stroke, he was positive most of the time. He stayed active as much as he could after the stroke. Bill really enjoyed deer hunting, dancing, and the mountains. He also loved drag racing and his favorite driver was Erica Enders, a pro stock driver. Bill always looked forward to our family get togethers, especially our 4th of July celebration.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 30 years, Maria Rudisill Morgan; his daughter Melissa Morgan; his sons, Brian Pettus and Michael Pettus; his brothers, Freddie "Buster" Morgan Jr., and Richard Gray (Rhonda); aunts: Nettie Adrian and Mabel "Hester" Cooper, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank the many nurses, doctors, and other staff at Caromont Regional Medical Center for the wonderful care provided to Bill. They would also like to extend a special thank you to his favorite nurse Holly White, his niece, as well as the staff at Centerwell Home Health for their kindness and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 5481 Hickory Grove Road, Stanley, NC 28164 or at FumcStanley.org.
