Catherine Wentz Denton, 94, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018. She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late William and Lucy Boyner Wentz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Rozzelle and Eugene Rozzelle; five brothers, Harry, Rob, Ned, Rayford, and Arie Wentz; and five sisters, Helen Turner, Ester Aldridge, Edith Williams, Lucille Cloninger, and Ruth Chaney.
Mrs. Denton is survived by her son, Michael Rozzelle; two granddaughters, Kristi Grier and Charley Bland; six great-grandchildren, Chase, Jordan, Stevie, Isabelle, Noah, and McKenna; and a sister, Nancy McCoig.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Denton will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm on Wednesday at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is serving the family.
