Doris Rogers Gibby

Doris Rogers Gibby, 69, of Stanley, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2018.  She was born in Gaston County to the late Benton Archie Rogers and Velma Irene Jones Rogers.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers Kenneth, Forrest, and James; as well as a sister Elaine.  Doris thoroughly enjoyed playing the organ.  She was a long-time member of Faith and Praise Assembly in Ranlo.  She will be remembered for her strong will, and her sweet and tender spirit.  Those left to cherish her memory include her husband James; a daughter Shannon Chaney and her husband Eric; two grandchildren Garen and Braden Chaney; her brothers and sisters Ernest, Frances, Wayde, Joyce, Steven, and Joseph; multiple nieces and nephews; and a grand dog Romeo.  A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church, 113 E. Parkwood Street, Stanley.  Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2018 also at the church.
