Lucille Helms Sherrill "Maw", 83, of Gastonia died Thursday December 7 at her home. She was born in Union County to the late Cora Bliss Starnes Helms and James Helms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd David Sherrill "Paw". Those left to cherish her memory include her three children David "Chris" Sherrill (Becky), Cathey West, and Connie Kluttz (Carl); and her four grandchildren Hannah Sherrill, Jerimy Black, Jason Black, and Carly Kluttz. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 12 Noon Monday, December 11, 2017 in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mt. Holly. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens Mausoleum.
