Marilyn Klinginsmith Nieder

Marilyn Klinginsmith Nieder, 82, of Charlotte, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at her home.  She was born in Falconer, NY to the late Donald Dexter Klinginsmith and Elsie Erwin Klinginsmith.  Marilyn loved and adored her family and was not only a tremendously dedicated wife, mother and granmma, but was known to her grandchildren as  "Grandma The Great".  Her family wasn't the only thing she was dedicated to, as her love for the Charlotte Hornets and The Tarheels was apparent.  She was also extremely proud of her husband's service in the United States Air Force.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Master Sgt. Gordon Lee Nieder and a son David Nieder.  Survivors left to cherish her memory include her children Brenda Pernaci, Tim Nieder, and Susan Hannay (Scott); grandchildren Kristina, Kimberly, Kelly, Jennifer, Christopher, Kathryn, Joshua, Zachary, Zoe, Melinda, Cathryn; great grandchildren Devin, Brianna, Anthony, Giovanni, Kaleb, Timmy, William, Kaylee; and her siblings Anita Hall and Skip Klinginsmith.  A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mt. Holly, NC.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pediatric Nephrology Center of Excellence at Levine Children's Hospital at www.givecarolinas.org/kidney or to the Ronald McDonald House of your choice.  Condolence messages may be sent to the family by visiting www.woodlawnfuneral.org.
