Dear Dad: Thanks for your life example of fighting the good fight, running the race, and keeping the faith. I will miss you because you were such a great Dad, teacher, but also a great friend, my truest friend. Thanks for all the support, help and love you gave to each one of us. Thanks for your examples of integrity, love, giving, kindness, and letting your “Little Light Shine.” Thanks for always being the prayer warrior during all our trials and tribulations. Thanks for being a man among men, a spiritual giant and the real deal. Thanks for being a fun Dad. Thanks for not only being a patriotic WWII U.S. Army soldier, but a valiant soldier of the cross. Last, you were truly a pilgrim and a stranger in this world, wherefore God is not ashamed to be called your God. While my heart is saddened at your leaving us, I am thankful and relieved you are no longer sick, afflicted and suffering. I know that you have put on immortality, are living in a new mansion in Heaven, and are racing around on the streets of gold, forever to be with your blessed Lord and Savior!

Mr. and Mrs. Mullis were good friends and political supporters who helped in my 2002 campaign for Superior Court. They were always two patriotic Americans. I am thankful to have known them.

My Dear Sweet Daddy, I was so blessed to have you as my daddy. I miss you more than you can ever imagine, Monday’s will never be the same, everyone I was close to knew where I was on Monday, that was your day. It’s going to be so strange not revolving my day around you. I’m so thankful I was able to come sit with you the last two months and feeding you or doing for you whatever you need it wasn’t a burden, it was a blessing. I’m so glad you’re no longer suffering and you’re in heaven getting all the blessings you so richly deserve. I love you my sweet daddy and I miss you and momma so much.

You lived your faith. Your mind was consistently on the Lord. You were humble, meek, kind, compassionate to all and full of love. We were blessed to have you as the patriarch of our family and the Godly example you set every day. I never heard you speak ill of anyone. I know you are rejoicing to be in heaven. I know the Lord has said to you "Well done, thou good and faithful servant".
