Howard Douglas ("Doug") Watts

Howard Douglas “Doug” Watts, 63, passed away on November 4, 2017 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House.  He was born in Mecklenburg County, son of Rena Jane Wright Thrower and the late Junior Carter Watts.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step-father, Jerry M. Thrower; two sisters, Gail Watts Aldridge and husband, Darrell, and Janet Watts Cowart and husband, Richard; half-brother, Charles Brian Stamey; step-brother, Martin A. Thrower and wife, LeAnne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont with Pastor Lamar Creel and Roger Wentz officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly on Tuesday.  Memorials may be made to Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepard’s Way, Dallas, NC 28034.  Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is serving the family.
