Mary B. Givens, 97, went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2018. She was born in Thomson, GA., daughter of E.L. and Dora Ingle Bates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.L. Givens; son, Bobby Givens; daughter, Margaret Lanning; and daughter-in-law, Jenny Givens.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary G. White and husband, Carroll of Mount Holly; son, Leslie Givens of Concord; daughter, Betty Ward and husband, Bill of Greenville, SC; daughter-in-law, Maxine Givens of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Woodlawn Haven for their care over the past three years.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Givens will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly with Rev. Bobby Gilley, of South Gastonia Church of God, officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Woodlawn Haven, 301 Craig Street, Mount Holly, NC 28120. Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is serving the family.
