Richard Anthony Allen, 66, of Belmont, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born in Mecklenburg County to Mazie Bone Allen and the late Grady Lee Allen. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Kay Allen, his son Michael Allen, and a brother Grady “Pete” Allen. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Mazie; his sons Jason Allen (Christina) and Ricky Allen, Jr.; three sisters Barbara Taylor (Les), Linda Thompson (Steve), and Kathy Duckworth (Ron); 14 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2017 in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home.
